Seniors’ Community Services is a charitable non-profit organization providing services and activities that enhance the independent living of seniors since 1981.
Over 140 volunteers help to provide services such as Meals on Wheels, Transportation, Diners’ Club, Telephone Reassurance, Friendly Visiting, Foot Care, Income Tax assistance for adults with a modest income, and various social activities. Additionally, our staff complete client assessments and referrals to other services as appropriate.
The Champlain Local Health Integrated Network (LHIN) provides a percentage of our funding, however, SCS is responsible for a large portion of our approved budget. Additional support is provided through funding from Leeds and Grenville United Way, Local Businesses, Service Clubs, private donations, fundraising, and where applicable user fees.
