Overview
The Rural Ontario Development (ROD) Program provides Cost-Share funding to support activities that create strong rural businesses in Ontario by funding projects that:
address barriers to economic development
build capacity to attract, retain and expand businesses
better position rural businesses to attract or retain investment
Interest and Penalty Relief Period Ends October 1, 2025
In April 2025, the Ontario government introduced six months of interest and penalty relief for businesses to temporarily delay payments for select provincial taxes. This relief period ends on October 1, 2025.
To avoid interest and penalties, Ontario businesses must pay any outstanding taxes from April 1 to October 1, 2025, by October 1, 2025.
If you need to make a payment, please use ONT-TAXS online or contact the Ministry of Finance at 1-866-668-8297.
Just a reminder to employers that the Ontario government will increase the general minimum wage to $17.60 an hour (from $17.20 an hour) effective October 1, 2025.
